Summary
This invention relates to a new chemical compound of Isopropyl-D-glucopyranoside derivatives and its total synthesis to prepare the chemical compound. The invention also provides uses of the Isopropyl-D-glucopyranoside derivatives for promoting regeneration of injured brain neurons and retinal neurons. In addition, the Isopropyl-D-glucopyranoside derivatives can promote recovery motor function deficit .
Scientific Breakthrough
There is currently no drug to promote nerve repair for patients suffer from brain injury. The invention relates to a new chemical compound of Isopropyl-D-glucopyranoside derivatives and its total synthesis to prepare the chemical compound. The invention also provides uses of the Isopropyl-D-glucopyranoside derivatives for promoting regeneration of injured brain neurons and retinal neurons. In addition, the Isopropyl-D-glucopyranoside derivatives can promote recovery of motor function deficit.
Industrial Applicability
Higher than 60% patients with traumatic brain injury are young and mid-age adults. Early treatment of these patient largely reduces neuronal death due to chronic inflammation. Moreover, the use of this invention would reduce the risk for developing neurodegenerative diseases. This invention is intended to be used in medical center to treat motor function deficit caused by traumatic brain injury.
