Scientific Breakthrough |
Nrf2 can act as a therapeutic target against chronic inflammatory diseases. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that the activation of Nrf2 has anti-inflammatory effects. We have established an immunological-based platform for nano drug. Gold nanodots had immunomodulatory activities in macrophages. This nanodots can effectively activate Nrf2, increase a variety of antioxidant enzymes,reduce oxidative stress. The findings showed that gold nanodots have potential applications against chronic inflammatory diseases via the Nrf2 pathway.

Industrial Applicability |
Using our immunological-based platform for nano drug, we first identify that this nanogold drug has immunomodulatory activity, which can regulate the Nrf2 downstream target antioxidant enzymeincrease the phagocytic ability in human macrophages. Therefore, the development of a customized immunological-based platform for nano drug can discover the future potential applications of nano-drug-targeted immune cells.
