Scientific Breakthrough
Electroluminescent self-emitting quantum dots technology is considered as the next-generation display technology. The transparent QD integrating device is fabricated under the atmosphere, consisting of QDs with shielded structure, carrier transport materials, alloyed transparent electrode. The QD self-emitting display is also fabricated in pixel-bank-free structure with the high transparencythe world’s highest luminance. Self-emitting QD displays have lighter weightthinner structure compared to that of traditional displays, showing potential for transparent indicator/VR displays.
Industrial Applicability
Quantum dots (QDs) have novel properties such as narrow emission spectrum, distinctive reliabilitylong lifetime. Recently, QDs are being introduced into commercial displaysthe lighting products. Self-emitting QD technology can be applied to transparent displays, including head-up displays, smart appliance, digital signage displays. According to the forecast reported by P&S Intelligence, the global market of transparent displays will reach US$4,933.6 million by 2024, which indicates the outstanding potential of transparent displays in the future.
