Technical Name 3D Match Reconstruction and Immersive Match Analysis System for Boxing Broadcast Video
Project Operator National Tsing Hua University
Project Host 朱宏國
Summary
This study developed a 3D reconstruction and immersive analysis system for boxing match broadcasts. It integrates human pose and spatial position detection with an interactive 3D scene editing tool, converting match footage into accurate 3D reconstructions. Users can watch matches in an immersive environment and observe details from different perspectives. The system also includes various 3D visualization analysis tools, helping users gain deeper insights into match events and tactics.
Scientific Breakthrough
Our system overcomes the limitations of traditional data chart-based tactical analysis for martial arts. Utilizing advanced 3D human reconstruction technology, it reconstructs athletes' movements and trajectories in 3D space from single-view footage. Additionally, we have developed a scene editing tool that allows users to modify scenes for greater accuracy. This enables a more comprehensive perspective in the immersive visualization analysis module, significantly enhancing tactical analysis.
Industrial Applicability
Our 3D reconstruction system is applicable to sports like boxing, wrestling, and gymnastics, enhancing tactical analysis and training. It can also be used in broadcasting to offer multi-angle viewing experiences. In VR, the system can include a virtual coach to demonstrate 1:1 action tutorials. Additionally, it recreates match actions, allowing players to interact with virtual athletes in VR games and experience the challenge.
