Scientific Breakthrough
We applied mass spectrometers to develop analytical methods for metabolomicsgut-microbiota derived metabolomics. We have successfully overcome the challenges including sensitivitythe separation of isomer. Metabolomicslipidomics are also used in clinicpublic health researches for searching potential biomarkers. For example, traumatic acid might be a potential biomarker in our recent sarcopenia research. We also identified 15 potential lipids which may be associated with exposure of multiple industrial pollutants in our recent environmental research paper.
Industrial Applicability
The results obtained from metabolomicsgut-microbiota derived metabolomics could be integrated with the industry of health care,applied to the area of biomarker investigationdrug discovery, facilitating personalized medicine.
