Summary |
The objective of this project is to develop domestic floating Lidar platform design. To satisfy the Pre-commercial technical requirement defined by Carbon Trust, a floating platform with motion compensation is developed. |
Scientific Breakthrough |
For floating LiDAR meeting pre-commercial technical stage, the follow requirement have to be fulfilled 1. Wind speed measurement error with 3%. 2. Wind direction measurement error with 3%. 3. Data availability over 85% Thus the tilt angle of the floating platfrom should be within 10 degrees under normal sea state. A motion compensation mechanism is developed for the LiDAR to keep platfrom stable. |
Industrial Applicability |
Metocean measurement for offshore wind farm is huge needed. Nowadays only 3 offshore metocean tower exist in Taiwan strait and their cost is expansive. Floating Lidar platfrom can perform measurement campaign by lower cost. Once our developed metocean measurement Lidar platform fulfill requirements of pre-commercialize stage 2 by international certification. Domestic floating lidar will come out. |
