One-third of the population in Taiwan suffers from pain, and up to 500,000 people are sorely unable to work. One of the indicators used to evaluate the magnitude of pain relief is the pain intensity difference (PID) that calculations of the difference between two pain scores. Although the PID could detect the pain relief, it does not select the constant pain scores, not consider the outcome goal of pain relief, and lack of the direction of improvement or worsening. Our invention overcomes the current deficiencies in assessing patient pain relief methods, takes into account the goal of pain relief, and, in combination with the nursing information system, can more accurately detect the patient's pain relief. In clinical practice, medical staff need to regularly conduct patient pain assessment. In the future, this method of detecting pain relief can be applied in the information system and a warning device is set up so that the medical staff can grasp the pain condition of the patient in time. The method of detecting the degree of pain relief can be typed into a smart phone or a wearable electronic device. The patient can input the pain score at home and can fully present the pain relief level and basic medical data during the home visit to manage pain. |
