Summary
We propose a sandwich-type resistive pressure sensor based on electrospun elastomeric nanofibers and silver nanoparticles process. We have successfully applied to smart switches and pulse sensing. We observed that smart switches combined with LEDs and clothing still retain performance. Pulse sensing monitors real-time beats in normal adults.
Scientific Breakthrough
By adjusting the parameters of the electrospun nanofiber, the sensing sensitivity of at least 0.2 kPa can be achieved, and the on-resistance value is less than 10 Ω. By controlling the density of the electrospun nanofibers, several different ranges of pressure sensing intervals were obtained, which remained stable after the cyclic test of strain (strain ε = 0.5) and bending (curvature 1 / 3 mm -1 ).
Industrial Applicability
We have successfully combined smart switches with LEDs and apparel to maintain their performance. Pulse sensing instantly monitors the number of heartbeats in normal adults. It is expected to be widely used and commercialized in various tactile electronic devices that interact with the human body in the future.
