Summary | Ensure correct NC program combined with parameters inside the CNC before starting the machine. This is done by pause of the machine once “Cycle Start” is hit, and the NC program is sent to the PC. The parameters and configurations are the basis. These include program zero, machine zero, tool length and diameter offset, etc. Physics can be used to calculate cutting forces. Once the simulation is ensured safe, the paused status can be released for the real operation. |

Scientific Breakthrough | By inserting specially designed NC codes into the to be executed NC program, bi-directional interactive communication is established between the CNC and PC. This method is not seen either in literature or in practice. Operation data with time stamp are also logged through network for analysis so as to achieve the proposed smart online bi-directional confirmation method for mam-machine interaction cutting simulation. |
