Porous microspheres are easily synthesized via the facile one-step procedure proposed in this invention, which its pore size and chemical composition are able to be adjusted. For an application example, a synthesized porous TiO2 microsphere composited with ferrite obtains a greatly improved photocatalytic efficiency and enhanced conversion efficiency for use in dye-sensitized solar cells. |
Industrial Applicability |
Because of high porosity, the microspheres exhibit high surface area and are appropriate for being used in wide industrial applications, such as being catalysts, absorbers, filters, drug-delivers, battery materials, etc. By the use of the self-made polymers, the procedure of manufacturing the composite porous spheres becomes easier employed, which is beneficial for keeping the cost down. |
