Technical Name Development of high transmittance color blind glasses

Summary
Because the three color-sensitive cone cells of the retina of the color-blind person cause color vision deficiency. In this study, for the defective cone cells, the optical notch filter is used to change the visible spectrum incident on the eye, adjust the sensitivity of the three cone cells, enhance the color contrast, and improve the color discrimination ability of color blind patients.
Scientific Breakthrough
We use optical notch glasses to improve the color-blind defects, which are found by Munsell 100 hue testing with irradiating a standard D65 light. The glasses have high transmission and natural reflection color. To prevent eye damage caused by accidental impact during wear, we have developed a low-temperature coating technology for the notch filter that optical multi-layers on CR39 or PC plastic glasses.
Industrial Applicability
A few manufacturers have color blind glasses for selling, but it is estimated that 30% of color-blind patients who purchase glasses have no significant correction effect. The notch filter glasses developed are suitable for color blind in hospital ophthalmology. The suitable optical notch film is deposited on the plastic glasses by vacuum low-temperature coating technology. The cost will be much lower than Enchroma's color- blind glasses.
