Metal-organic framework is a kind of regular porous material which is self-assembled by metal ion centerorganic ligand framework. I used the metal-organic framework as a templateprecursor to successfully develop a low-cost bimetallic phosphide, which exhibits excellent water splitting hydrogen production performance. The on-site real-time change experiment technology provided by Taiwan Photon Source is a great weapon for real-time detection of active sitesreaction centers during the development of key catalyst materials.

This invention provides a method for synthesis a catalyst for catalyzing hydrogenation of CO2 to methanol. The precipitation process was controlled at 70 oCaging for 1.5 hour. The CuO: ZnO: Al2O3 weight ratios are 7: 3: 1. The particle size of CuO is less than 5 nm. The reaction is carried at 50 bar250 oC, CO2/H2= 1/3. Adding hydrophobic fumed silica, water is expelled from catalyst surface,the reaction can shift to product side. Therefore the CO2 conversion can reach 90 thermodynamic equilibrium conversion, methanol selectivity is greater than 95.

Our technology has completed a laboratory prototype, proved to be feasibleworkable. The costenergy consumption are better than the commercial competitors. Now our R&D team further builds the first carbon neutral pilot plant in Taiwan with a continuous process from CO2 capture→purification→alkylation. The pilot plant has successively cooperated with high-carbon industries such as steel, petrochemical,power plants to transform the CO2/CO of flue gas into high-value green chemicals, key agricultural urea fertilizer materialsenergy storage chemicals.
