| Summary | The Optical System Assembly (OSA) in the FORMOSAT-8A optical remote sensing instrument is equipped with a high-resolution Ritchey–Chrétien telescope optical system boasting a 396mm aperture and a 3927mm effective focal length. This system can capture high-resolution images with a ground sampling distance of 1.0 meter, using a 7μm pixel-size image sensor while orbiting at an altitude of 561km (0.7m GSD post processing). |
| Scientific Breakthrough | The FS8A/B RSI OSA is a high-resolution space optical system. It is designed to overcome the vibrations and shocks experienced during the launch phase and provide high-resolution, high-quality images while in orbit. |
| Industrial Applicability | Based on the technologies developed from the FS8A/B RSI OSA, it can be made available for the development of small-space optical systems in the optical industry. |
