Summary |
The present invention relates to a large area planar solid oxide unit cell manufactured by a tape casting method. We successful co-firing of the multi-layer structure through optimization of the slurry composition. Co-firing would increase production throughputdecrease energy usage during manufacturing. |
Scientific Breakthrough |
"1. Development low polarization composite electrodethe laminated multi-layered design. Polarization resistance of developed electrodes is as low as 0.3 ohm cm2 at 600 °C.( Benchmark is 80-100 Ω cm2 @600oC)
2. Reversible solid oxide cells have been successfully manufactured by tape castingco-firing techniques. The size of the unit cell is 10cm x 10 cm.
3. A high power density of 1.2 W/cm2 at operating temperature as low as 650 °C (commercial product is 0.6-0.8W/cm2 @800oC)" |
Industrial Applicability |
Tape casting is a good forming method to produce large-area ceramic tapes. This method requires only basic equipmentcan be applied to a variety of rSOC components. It is positive contribution to economic considerations uniquenessgross profit. Combine with co-firing technique would increase production throughputdecrease energy usage during manufacturing. |
