Summary |
The invention developed the novel wavelength converting films with the composited perovskite quantum dots (FCU-PQDs), facilitating the application of this technology for LED backlight module. The FCU-PQDs LEDs that are used for the backlight transmitted through a color filter exhibit the ITU-R Recommendation BT.2020 approximately 90% (a National Television System Committee value of 120%). |
Scientific Breakthrough |
This pattern aims to develop of novel wavelength converting films with the composite perovskite quantum dots (FCU-PQDs). We develop an innovative technology, applying FCU-PQDs on chip to the components of LED backlight modules. FCU-PQDs on chip have enhanced the light efficiency over 30% (approximately 80 lm/W). The ITU-R Rec. BT.2020 value of FCU-PQDs on chip could over 90% using for backlight module of LCD. |
Industrial Applicability |
This technology developed the FCU-PQDs on chip of white light source, which can be directly applied to develop QD-LCD. FCU-PQDs will also use for mini-LEDs and micro-LEDs. For FCU-PQDs are expected economic benefits. Large-size TV displays are expected to increase to 86% by 2020. The TV market expects QD-LCD shipments to increase from 5 million units in 2017 to 50 million units in 2020, with values estimated revenue of $10.6 billion. |
