Summary
This technology proposes a "smart original bed bathing equipment group" long-term care assistive device that can improve the quality of home care and allow patients to thoroughly clean and bathe. The smart belt is applied to the patient's abdomen to detect in time when the patient urinates and defecates, it is transmitted through the wireless network to notify the caregiver to deal with it immediately. In addition, with the newly developed bathing and cleaning equipment, only one caregiver can complete the cleaning and bathing work on the original bed where the patient is lying, reducing the risk of patient moving and moving, which can reduce the workload of caregivers and can also effectively help improve the health conditions of patients.
Scientific Breakthrough
The intelligent belt developed by this technology covers the patient’s abdomen, can detect the patient’s bowel movements in a timely manner, and transmits it through the wireless network to notify the caregivers to deal with it in real time. When patient want to take a bath and clean, only one person can do it on the original bed where the patient is lying, reducing the risk of patient movement.
Industrial Applicability
The major obstacle to long-term care in Taiwan is human resources. Among the existing values of Taiwanese, most believe that care services are labor-type jobs, which are neither professional nor hard work; plus caregivers often need to clean up the feces of the care recipient or do activities with huge physical expenditures, so that they are physically and mentally exhausted, and long-term accumulation is likely to cause occupational injuries. Therefore, most people are unwilling to engage in long-term care. When the overall quality of the care environment has improved, it is possible to fundamentally solve the problems that are difficult for caregivers to obtain and give the care-received a safe and dignified warm space.
