Last award-winning invention provides an apparatus of treating water to obtain small water cluster(SWC) and a method of preparing the SWC and the SWC prepared from the apparatus or the method. The corresponding distinct properties of SWC were also reported. In this invention, we provide an innovative strategy on gut microbiota(GM) altered by utilizing distinct properties of plasmon-activated water(PAW) with SWC to prevent Alzheimer’s disease (AD). The composition of GM was altered by PAW feeding in APP/PS1 mice. Fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) from PAW-fed APP/PS1 mice resulted in a similar composition of GM as that of PAW-fed APP/PS1 mice, which is significantly different from that of normal water-fed APP/PS1 mice. β-amyloid (Aβ) and phosphorylated (p)-tau aggregations in brains are significantly decreased in PAW-fed and FMT APP/PS1 mice. Various inflammatory markers, are also significantly reduced. Moreover, AD symptoms are reversed and AD mice show normal cognitive functions.

By drinking healthy and good water everyday, and then achieving the effect of preventive medicine, this is what everyone wants to achieve. In this invention, we provide an innovative strategy on gut microbiota(GM) altered by utilizing anti-inflammatory plasmon-activated water (PAW) to prevent Alzheimer’s disease(AD). Fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) from PAW-fed AD mice resulted in a similar composition of GM as that of PAW-fed AD mice, which is significantly different from that of normal water-fed AD mice. These results suggest that PAW and its related FMT could alter the composition of GM of AD mice to reverse the symptoms and pathology of AD. Drinking PAW simply and naturally can change the GM and prevent the onset of AD, which is the biggest breakthrough point of this technology.
