Our product and technique is to provide orthopedic surgeons with a fast, safe, and precise targeting device for screw placement by using electro-optical engineering to decreased radiation exposure of fluoroscopy to both the surgeons and the patients. The oscillation of these fields may be in a single direction, or the field may rotate at the optical frequency. The polarizer is an optical filter that transmits the light to uni-polarization. The attenuator can reduce intensity of light to obtain a clearer picture without change of the wavelength or beam size. It can avoid radiation exposure of patients and medical personnel, reduce the operative time required for screwing holes, and increase screwing accuracy. It is applicable to the medical industry, and used in orthopedic fracture surgery instruments. At present, X-ray machines naturally grow more than 5% globally yearly. Among them, digital X-ray machines are the largest projects. According to the IEK estimates of the Institute of Industrial Science and Technology, the global output value of infant and mobile digital X-ray machines will grow from US$480 million dollars in 2013 to US$604 million dollars in 2018. This patent will be a safer and faster alternative to X-ray machines in the clinic application. |
