Summary
Sound quality is an important issue in sound production today. The design of earphone is related to human aural response which is subjective to individual’s ear physiology, preferences, and predilection. Many measurement assessment metrics for earphone sound quality have been defined including frequency and loudness that objectively demonstrate the physical quality of sound. Alternately, based on psychoacoustic studies, this technology presents loudness, sharpness and roughness to quantify subjective auditory characteristics, and then proposes a sound quality evaluation model. The model incorporates subjective quantity hearing data analysis which can inversely help to design earphone.
Scientific Breakthrough
Due to the rapid development of technology, communication products continue to innovate and output increases, and the sound quality requirements of headphones are also challenged. The technology is used for the design of various earphones and the evaluation of objective sound quality data. With various frequency measurement techniques, the technology can objectively express the sound quality of the earphones for music reproduction. The technology can extend other well-known psychoacoustic parameters such as loudness, sharpness, roughness and other parameters related with the human ear to listen to music. Moreover, a statistical model for evaluating sound quality assessment and design is analyzed and established in this proposal. In practical applications, the technology-packaged application can be used to run mathematical conversions, and directly computed on a personal computer. This app eliminates the need for many analog filters and circuit architectures for headphone sound quality design. Accuracy and convenience is evidence in experimental data and simulation results with mathematical models. This technology is applicable to the computer sound system, and the e-sports industry manufacturers have mastered and improved the sound quality of the design headphones.
