Currently there has been using nursing call system massively in the hospitals as the bridge of information exchange, which the patients in the generally ward can only press a button to get the medical personnel service in the hospitals. Following the advancement of intelligent network technology, we have upgraded this system and developed a novel nursing call system by using Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology to establish our product of “Applying the VoIP on Nursing Call System”. In this system, every hospital bed in the hospital will be equipped a VoIP device and is assigned a specific account number. When the device is triggered, not only the corresponding nursing station is notified by this number but also the corresponding modified mobile e-nursing cart is called. Therefore both services can promptly provide to the patient who starts this system. This innovation can resolve the problem that mobile e-nursing cart may not always stand by at the nursing station. In addition, VoIP system can be integrated into this nursing call system to allow patients’ family members or friends to call the patients’ extensions in the hospital ward at the specific time. Inside this nursing call system there also has equipped an IP-PBX system and regional network to integrate both call bell at the patient bed side and modified mobile e-nursing cart together. Because the location of the call bell is fixed, the modified mobile e-nursing cart can accurately detect where it has to go. Moreover, through the intelligent network in this nursing call system, the medical personnel can gather information from all of the patients’ extent of their symptoms. It allows head nurse or administrator to obtain a suitable shift table arrangement and an optimum match between patients and nurses and medical personnel. |
