Summary |
Multiple sensing devices and embedded controller are used to implement the heterogeneous sensing and climate regulating system for crop cultivation management. All sensors and controllers are made by means of MEM technology, and these high-stability modules can be duplicated based on user demand. It is low in terms of hardware implementation costs and flexible interms of hardware modification. The long-distance wireless transmission Zigbee and WiFi network are used in point-to-point data transmission. The data acquisition and validation program are developed to ensure the low data error rate during data transmission stage. Meanwhile, the real-time embedded Fuzzy/PID controllers are employed to regulate the temperature, humidity, lighting, and CO2 based on expert knowledge database in greenhouse. Finally, the environment data can be displayed in a mobile APP device and Webpage. Users can observe the growth response of plants and monitor environmental factors within the cultivation zone remotely at any time in order to effectively enhance the quality and quantity of plant production. The proposed system can be extended to multiple zones of the greenhouse to establish a diversified or consistent cultivation condition and to achieve energy conservation. The experimental results show that the proposed system is stable and robust and provides basis for future greenhouse applications. |
