Technical Name AreVes- Generation of tailor-made liposomes
Project Operator National Yang-Ming University
Project Host 費伍岡
Summary
The platform allows the manufacturing of liposome models for the use in computer simulations.

Using structure files of lipid molecules, molecules are projected on to a sphere based on calculating an arch correction.

Various lipid compositions and addition of integral membrane proteins or peptides can be achieved, supporting the development of novel composition and function of liposomes.
Scientific Breakthrough
There are several options to model liposomes. These options do not guaranty the precise lipid composition or the stability of the liposome. ArcVes technology uses experimentally derived data as a number to define the inter-lipid distance. This distance is then corrected by using an arch correction. This allows us to obtain with an extremely high yield of tailor-made and stable liposomes.
Industrial Applicability
There are an increasing number of drugs that are delivered to the target by liposomes. Thus, there is the need of screening drug-lipid interaction. The prerequisite of this is that, very quickly stable liposomes can be produced for follow-up computer simulations. ArcVes also supports the field of biotechnology, where liposomes can be seen as container systems for compound production.
