Technical Name Multifunctional H2O2/H2 generators
Project Operator National Cheng Kung University
Project Host 王鴻博
Summary
The new photocatalytic intermediate water splitting reaction generating H2 and H2O2, which can be separated promptly, are used for energy supply and removal of organics in contaminated water, respectively. A photoactive nanoreactor (Pd@TiO2)-based H2/H2O2 generator (15 L/day) with a high conversion can provide enough drinking water for a family. A indoor lamp with H2 generation is also presented.
Scientific Breakthrough
The multifunction H2O2/H2 generator (via the PIWS reaction) using the photoactive nanoreactor (Pd@TiO2) can produce promptly separated H2O2 aqueous solution and H2 gas. The former can be used to clean up organic-contaminated water for drinking water, and the latter can be used as fuel. This easy-operation, low-cost generator (15 L/) can provide clean water for a low-income family.
Industrial Applicability
The multifunction H2O2/H2 generator using the photoactive nanoreactor (Pd@TiO2) can produce promptly separated H2O2 aqueous solution and H2 gas. The former can be used to clean up organic-contaminated water for drinking water, and the latter can be used as fuel. This easy-operation, low-cost generator providing clean water would have a promising application and high business competitiveness.
