Summary |
An intelligent pumping system consisted of solar energy, monitoring devices and communication module is developed. The system allows mountain village residents track the in-situ groundwater conditions and remotely control the pump, not only supply for their daily water demands, but the landslide potential is also reduced. In addition, the Iot application helps the system self-control the pump, automatically lower the groundwater when it is at the warning level. |
Scientific Breakthrough |
A total solution that contains the feature of efficiency has been used to mitigate the complex disaster induced by drought and landslide. The solution differs from the traditional remediation that remains on solving each type of disaster separately. Furthermore, green energy and IoT technology are incorporated into a novel framework to reinforce the effectiveness and instantaneity of hazard management. |
Industrial Applicability |
The developed system, which can offer valuable support for decision-making processes of disaster prevention, is capable of monitoring dynamic signal from various in-situ sensors, helping water resources allocations, and stabilizing hill slopes by means of drainage. Therefore, the system can be promoted to landslide-prone tribes in assisting against drought and landslides and creating a secure slope land environment for the Taiwanese aborigines. |
