Summary
The novel FCDI device can be used to effectively treat inorganic wastewaters for water recycling and reuse with recovering of rare precious metals (RPMs) therein. With the FCDI modularization and automation design, better adjustments of the wastewater treatment capacities and high efficiency can be attained. The FCDI device without waste discharged would have a promising application and high business competitiveness.
Scientific Breakthrough
The traditional methods for recycling of RPMs have many drawbacks (i.e., high energy consumption and secondary environmental pollution). The FCDI device can be used to effectively treat inorganic wastewaters for water recycling and reuse with recycling of RPMs therein. The flowing AC@SGO electrode for the FCDI acts as a cation exchange membrane for select capture of ions by electrosorption with reduced co-ion effect.
Industrial Applicability
